Rio Grande Nature Center

A 38-acre state-park wildlife preserve in the bosque, with ponds, blinds and a visitor center designed by Antoine Predock.

The Rio Grande Nature Center State Park opened in 1982 beside the river. Two thirds of it is wildlife habitat, with four constructed ponds, two gardens and viewing blinds, and over 300 bird species have been recorded. Loop trails lead half a mile to the river and the bosque beyond.
